I am a specialist newborn photographer, at Katie Watson Photography.

“I am particularly good at calming and soothing baby, which means I am able to achieve those perfectly sleepy moments. I have received a lot of specialist training in newborn posing because safety is paramount, as baby is very new and has no control whatsoever. I’ll work with you to achieve gorgeous newborn photos that are suited to you and your family’s style and home.”

Jessica - 10 days old

I had the joy of photographing Jessica while she was in mums tummy, and then shortly after Jessica herself at 10 days old.

Jessica, as you can see from the photos, is gorgeous. She had lots of dark hair and beautiful skin.

When to book your newborn session...

It is so important that you book your newborn session early while your pregnant. We can put a provisional booking in the diary ready for your baby, which allows us to be able to fit you in once baby is born. We get booked up very quickly and cannot guarantee you a session if you ring once baby is born, however we will try our best to fit you in.

Remember that baby must be between 5 and 12 days old for a newborn portrait. Any baby after this age is no longer a newborn (in the photography sense), I can photograph older babies but please be aware that we will not achieve those sleepy posed images as you see in my newborn work. After your baby has passed the newborn stage ages 4, 6 and 12 months old are more ideal (but can be completely tailored to you and your baby’s needs).

Sorry...

I am very sorry that my blog has been a little quiet lately, I have been working at a studio called Szpak Photography.

I have been doing all sorts of photo sessions in the studio such as family and child photography, Michelle who owns Szpak Photography is helping me to grow as a photographer. We are focusing on lighting techniques and posing. It is so important as a photographer that I keep up with training and continue to learn, so that I can become a better photographer for you!

I have also been doing newborn sessions which I hope to update you on in the next few weeks.
