Studio Sessions

Hi all,

Hope your having a good february and aren't too cold! BURRR!

Just wanted to give you a little update on new and exciting things available here at Katie Watson Photography.

As you all probably know by now I recently moved house, therefore I am now able to offer 'studio sessions'.

If your less comfortable or do not have the space for me to come to your home to do your newborn session, you are welcome to come to my home in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. Tea and coffee on tap, you will be able to sit down and relax while you watch your baby being posed. My living room will be transformed into a studio especially for your session.

Here at Katie Watson Photography we also have plenty of new props to choose from and gorgeous little hats.

Keep an eye out for some set up photos and prop photos, so that you can have a better idea of what I have to offer for your session.

Newborn Specialist

After long deliberation I have decided that Katie Watson Photography will solely photograph newborns and maternity. 

I want to be able to offer my customers the very best, which means I need to focus on one area of photography so that I can put everything into that area. It will mean I can focus my training there, my time, my planning and most of all my heart. 

I work the best when I am photographing newborns and maternity, as these areas of photography allow me to use my artist flare in the best way possible. 

I am currently working on prices and products so please bare with me when you enquire. 

For those who do not know I no longer work at Szpak photography, however I will be able to use the studio up until January. After this time I will return to being a fully mobile photographer.

About Newborn Photography

It is very important that I photograph baby between 5- 12 days old so that we can capture the best images possible for you. At this age babies like to sleep which means that we can create those classic sleepy posed photographs of your baby. It also means we don’t have to worry about colic, as that can make baby very restless.

I am a fully mobile photographer, meaning I come to your home to photograph your newborn. During your session you will be able to relax while you watch your baby having their photos taken. There will be a chance to get sibling and baby and also parent and baby photographs in the session. We will also talk before hand in your consultation call about preparation and what sort of things to have ready. I will also have a chat with you about what sort of style your looking for from your photography and where you are looking to place your photos in your home, this will give me a good idea of how to shoot your session and what colours to use to compliment your home.

My number one focus above all is that your baby is safe, happy and comfortable throughout the whole session. Baby is very, very new and will have no control whatsoever. I will support your baby throughout each pose, and will always be close to baby when he/she is in a posed position. Please be aware that any of those unique, self-supporting photographs you see are a few images in one to keep baby safe (keep an eye out for a blog post on this very soon).
