Newborn - Training - Jace 18 days

At the beginning of May I had some training with Cass Davies, who lives and works in North Wales as a newborn photographer and trainer. She is very talented! 

I asked Cass to come and further my training, I wanted to work on bean bag posing (blanket shots) and lighting. The day went very well, we had a little girl called Emillie- Mae in the morning (blog to follow) and then Jace in the afternoon featured below. 

We started off with a quick prop shot that I wanted to try out, Cass was holding one side of this bowl for safety (her hand was then edited out in post) This is one of my favourite images from the session! 

We moved onto bean bag (blanket poses), Jace wasn't much for sleeping so getting him settled was rather tricky.

We then worked on some wrapping techniques..

Jace had gorgeous eyes!

I think it is so important for a newborn photographer to continue to train and learn new skills. I am always striving to offer my customers the best images and safest practice. 

Most of the training I undertook this month was working on refining my skills and continuing to practice safety. 

When booking a newborn photographer please avoid photographers with no training, ask your photographer about their background and experience before booking.

Teddy - 8 days

This is Teddy! He was born on March 17th and was 8 days old for his session. 

Mum loved blues and greys hence the lovely colours in the below images.

Teddy loved a cuddle therefore it was only right to get a lovely photo with him and his big brother Oscar!

Grace - 13 days

This is my gorgeous little niece Grace Mathilda, below are a few shots from her main session, you can see her life style session one post back. 

Grace was such a good little sleeper.

After I did some photos of Grace on her own we did some lovely family photos, Jack (my nephew and Graces big brother) wanted to get involved in some family photos. Very proud big bro!

Studio Sessions

Hi all,

Hope your having a good february and aren't too cold! BURRR!

Just wanted to give you a little update on new and exciting things available here at Katie Watson Photography.

As you all probably know by now I recently moved house, therefore I am now able to offer 'studio sessions'.

If your less comfortable or do not have the space for me to come to your home to do your newborn session, you are welcome to come to my home in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. Tea and coffee on tap, you will be able to sit down and relax while you watch your baby being posed. My living room will be transformed into a studio especially for your session.

Here at Katie Watson Photography we also have plenty of new props to choose from and gorgeous little hats.

Keep an eye out for some set up photos and prop photos, so that you can have a better idea of what I have to offer for your session.
